SYCAMORE WOOD VENEER

Botanical Name: Acer pseudoplatanus
Origin: Europe

Available crown, quarter or rift cut, this is an attractive, very pale, veneer often with an elegant central crown.
The trees from which it is produced are usually felled when the sap is not rising to ensure that the resulting
veneer is as white as possible. Highly figured sycamore is obtained from particular logs and the veneer
from these can display a striking fiddle-back figure, which is much in demand for quality
furniture-making and fine interior decoration.
