Origin: United Kingdom

Occasionally Oak trees grown in the UK are subject to attack by a fungus which results in the wood darkening to a
deep reddish-brown. Usually quarter cut to display the medullary rays the veneer is also available crown cut.
The Burr veneer from such trees has a very distinctive rich appearance and when displaying an unusual white
mottled appearance is sometimes known as 'Tiger' Burr. Used in cabinet-making and fine interior decoration.
